For the first time the Altmark Festival is presenting a midnight concert in one of the most popular and beautiful towns in Germany. Members of the Thüringer Bach Collegium are playing works of Johann Sebastian Bach, his sons and contemporaries in the majestic St. Stephan’s Church. Accompanied by the Scherer Organ built in 1624 which belongs to the most significant historic organs in Europe. It will be played by Christian Stötzner, cantor and organist of the Georgenchurch in Eisenach, where J.S. Bach was baptized.
